  4.   Vegas Blackjack 2.0 is shareware and may be distributed freely as long as it is not altered in any way and this help file is included.
  5.  
  6.   The object in Vegas Blackjack is to beat the total of the dealer's hand while not letting your own hand exceed a total of 21.
  7.  
  8.   Before beginning a new hand you must first place your bet.  This is done by moving the pointer to the lower left of the screen and clicking on the chips.  Your bet will be increased by the value of the chip that you click on.  Your total bet will appear on the bet line in the center of the screen.

  10.   After you have finished placing your bet you can begin the hand by pressing the DEAL button.  Once you press the DEAL button the dealer will deal you and himself two cards.  One of his cards will be dealt face down.  If you are satisfied with your total you can then press the STAND button.  If you are not satisfied with your total then you can press the HIT button to receive additional cards.  Once you have pressed the STAND button or exceeded a total 21 the dealer will begin to play his hand.

  17. DOUBLE DOWN - After you have have been dealt two cards you have the option to Double Down.  This is done by pressing the DOUBLE button.  When you Double Down your bet is doubled and you are given one additional card.  You must take this additional card and you aren't allowed any more cards.

  21. a) You can only Double Down on your first two cards.
  22. b) You can only Double Down if you have enough money to double your bet.

  26. SPLIT - If the first two cards you are dealt form a pair then you can split the cards into two hands.  A bet equal to your original bet will be placed on each hand.  The Dealer will play his hand once you have finished playing each of your hands.

  30. a) You can only split if you have enough money to double your bet.
  31. b) When you split a pair of aces you can only get one additional card per ace.

INSURANCE -  After the hand is dealt, if the Dealer is showing an ace then you have the option of placing an additional insurance bet.  The insurance bet is equal to 1/2 of your original bet.  If you choose to place an insurance bet and the dealer has blackjack then you win the insurance bet.  Insurance pays 2:1.

  39. You can only place an insurance bet if your total money is at least half of your bet.

  43. Vegas Blackjack Rules:

  45.   1)  The shoe consists of six decks.
  46.   2)  The shoe is reshuffled once 90% of the cards have been played.
  47.   3)  Hands can only be split once.
  48.   4)  Blackjack pays 3:2.  All other winning hands pay 2:1.
  49.   5)  The dealer must take an additional card on a total of 16 or less.
  50.   6)  The dealer must stand on 17 or higher.
  51.   7)  Cards are taken at their face value.
  52.   8)  Face cards have a value of 10.
  53.   9)  An ace can count as either a 1 or an 11.
  54. 10)  Insurance pays 2:1.
  55. 11)  The dealer automatically wins if dealt Blackjack, unless you also have Blackjack.
  56. 12)  If the player and dealer tie then the game is "pushed" and nobody wins.
